Camino de Santiago Walking Holidays

About the area
Most of this tour takes place in the Basque Country, a beautiful area of dramatic forest laden mountains, narrow valleys and rugged coastline interspersed with pretty estuaries of meandering rivers. Our tour takes in the best of these giving you an itinerary that is varied, interesting and very rewarding.
As always we have planned to tour to take into consideration the different capabilities of our guests so whether you are a keep fit fanatic or a more laid back rambler we have something for you that will ensure you get the best out of this unique area.
We’ve also made the most of the beautiful towns that populate this coast and will be having overnight stays in the border port of Hondarribia, the gourmet centre of San Sebastian, the pretty fishing port of Getaria just in time for the anchovy season and finally the gentile resort of Castro Urdiales.

Please note this tour does not finish in Santiago, it’s too far!

The Walks
Our aim is to give you a taste of the beauty of this part of the Camino del Norte, the coastline, the countryside and the mountains, in a manageable way which is not easy given just how hilly the region is.

So on two of the days we have a drive of approximately an hour before the start of the walk, however this is more than rewarded by experiencing the sheer beauty and variety of the area without the pain!

As always our days are structured to cater for each guest’s different abilities and wishes so that no one feels left out.
